Summary | This course extends and consolidates material covered in lectures in the prerequisite Population and Quantitative Genetics (BIO-5-PQGEN). It has two concurrent strands:
1)Weekly tutorials on genetics problems in natural and selected populations. The problem sets involve derivations and numerical calculations which have to be completed ahead of each tutorial session;
2)Weekly group discussions of recent key scientific papers on relevant topics. Students will have to prepare a written critique of selected papers and also contribute fully to the general discussion of the issues raised. |
