On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Describe the process of obtaining funding for academic research from the research councils
Search, identify and critically evaluate the relevant literature to gain a thorough and current knowledge of a biochemistry-related topic
Build on current biochemical knowledge to suggest new directions for investigation of a biochemical problem
Design the appropriate experiments to tackle the biochemical problem
Identify the resources required to execute the project
Prepare a relevant, coherent, and acceptable grant application
