SummaryThis is a 1-week field course which is unique in combining critical, philosophical study of conservation theory and issues with first-hand experience of conservation practice and the environments in which this practice takes place. The course will normally be held in New Lanark and the Isle of Rum, areas which provide the subsstantive content and outdoor learning environment for the course. Students will be engaged in critical thinking and practical activities to develop their understanding of key philosophical questions about the nature and practice of conservation.
