| Summary | This course will provide a coherent perspective of how drugs are developed from a molecular target through preclinical development to clinical trials. It will consider how academic pharmacology can interact with drug development or can be focussed on discovery of molecular mechanisms independent of immediate therapeutic potentials. The economic drivers and processes (project proposal, grant funding, and hypothesis formulation) in the industrial and academic domains will be considered. Generic skills (statistics, oral and written presentations of data) important to pharmacology will be developed. |
