Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course, students will be able to demonstrate:
an understanding of the relationship between agency and rationality
an understanding of rational requirements and their implications
awareness of the connection between rationality and reasoning, and the ways it can break down
knowledge of major issues currently at the frontiers of philosophical debates about self control
an ability to bring analytic and critical tools to bear in reading and writing about current topics of research on self control
Students will also acquire the following transferable skills:
analytical skills
oral communication skills
the ability to recognise and critically assess an argument
the ability to do literature searches
