Additional Information (Assessment) |
The proposal will be marked jointly by the assigned dissertation supervisor and another tutor. In contact mode, the proposal will be submitted according to the timetable for submission established by the university in the relevant academic year. Dissertations are assessed on a pass/fail basis. The word length of a dissertation is up to 15, 000 words. The credit rating is 50.
The criteria include:
1.specify a topic of enquiry suitable for a dissertation and justify its theoretical significance, professional relevance and practical feasibility
2. identify and reflect critically on relevant and up-to-date literature, research reports and other scholarly evidence, with specific reference to the research process used
3. collect and analyse evidence justifying the approaches and techniques used and identify the implications of these choices for the status of the evidence and the findings based on it
4.examine critically the contribution and limitations of the study
5.demonstrate that the study complies with the relevant ethical guidelines
6.present work reflecting the appropriate academic conventions in relation to style, tone, paragraphing, paraphrasing, sectioning of the text, proof-reading, and referencing
7.reflect critically on conventional professional opinions and practices |
