SummaryThis course has been designed to complement 'Scotland in the 20th century'. It is designed to give students who have completed that course an opportunity to add depth to their knowledge of twentieth century Scotland and to examine contemporary issues in a historical context.

Prohibited Combinations Other requirements A pass or passes in 40 credits of first level historical courses or equivalent and a pass or passes in 40 credits of second level historical courses or equivalent.

Pre-requisitesVisiting students should usually have at least 3 History courses at grade B or above (or be predicted to obtain this) for entry to this course. We will only consider University/College level courses.

Learning Outcomes
Through completion of the course students will have gained knowledge and understanding of the this period of Scottish history and will have had some experience of the following skills: critical reading of primary and secondary sources; completion of independent research leading to seminar presentation and submission of written work to a required standard; participation in group seminar work and an appreciation of the responsibility to other members of the group.
