A lecture based course outlining the basic principles of ecology and the knowledge and use of plant materials.
Aims of course
1 To introduce the basic principles of ecology.
2 To introduce the principles of plant use, growth and requirements.
3 To introduce plant recognition skills and a basic palette of species.

Lectures, fieldwork, desk based research and work book presentation. |

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. recognise and identify a simple range of plant species.
2. explore and communicate the design potential of plant material.
3. demonstrate an understanding of the attributes, properties and structure of ecosystems |
Assessment Information
Students must pass all learning outcomes. The aggregation of failed Learning outcomes with passing learning outcomes to generate an overall pass mark is not permitted. Failure of one learning outcome will result in a Forced Fail (FF) outcome.
