| Course description | Indicative course content 
A lecture and seminar based module exploring examples of contemporary landscape architecture. 
 
Aims of course 
1 To introduce some of the key influences on contemporary landscape design  
2 To introduce a vocabulary, tools and methods to allow the analysis  of contemporary landscape architecture 
3 to give students the opportunity to analyse important design precedents and prototypes.

Learning Outcomes 
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:  
1. broadly understand the history of urban & landscape design influences from Asia, Europe & North America.  
2. broadly understand the theoretical basis of landscape design. 
3. analyse, visually & comparatively, contemporary designs according to precedent.  | 
 
 
Assessment Information 
| Students must pass all learning outcomes. The aggregation of failed Learning outcomes with passing learning outcomes to generate an overall pass mark is not permitted. Failure of one learning outcome will result in a Forced Fail (FF) outcome. |
