The course consists of a series of lectures, site visits and studio based project.s 
 
Aims of course 
1 To introduce basic structural principles and to provide the opportunity for their application through the creative development and resolution of a detail design 
2 To enable exploration of a range of materials, commonly used in landscape architecture, and to provide the opportunity for appropriate selection through the creative development and resolution of a detail design 
3 To enable development of graphic communication skills and techniques

Learning Outcomes 
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:  
1. apply knowledge and understanding of basic structural principles to the resolution of detail design brief/s  
2. select appropriate hard materials to the resolution of detail design brief/s 
3. communicate L.O. 1 & 2 using appropriate and clear graphic techniques  | 
 
 
Assessment Information 
| Students must pass all learning outcomes. The aggregation of failed Learning outcomes with passing learning outcomes to generate an overall pass mark is not permitted. Failure of one learning outcome will result in a Forced Fail (FF) outcome. |
