Course descriptionThe course is a complimentary programme of lectures and seminar that explores contemporary discourse and practice in materials and materiality, in the context of the environment, economy and culture. The aim of the course is to develop a broad understanding of different perspective and positions that can be taken of the nature and on the practice of materials. It adopts a flexible structure that responds to skills and expertise of a range of tutors across the ECA. It may include topics such as: Innovation, Disruptive technology, Studies in Material Practice, Modes of cross-disciplinary Craft and contemporary practice, Design and the circular economy, Digital Fabrication and performance.
