Course descriptionA course for beginners with no previous knowledge of Japanese, designed to introduce the Japanese Language and culture. The course is not suitable for students with previous knowledge of Japanese.
The examination will consist of a two-hour written paper.
NOTE: Numbers on this course are restricted therefore Directors of Studies should contact the Course Organiser.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students will develop basic reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. They will acquire knowledge of basic grammatical structures and a vocabulary of approximately 400 high-frequency words and phrases and the 2 basic character sets.
