Course descriptionA two stage research-based course involving:
1) preparation of a report covering the background to a chosen research topic and the formation of a research plan with milestones and objectives (semester 1);
2) a laboratory project under supervision of a member of staff, where the assessment is based on a written thesis, laboratory performance and oral presentation of results (semester 2).
