| Course description | The course comprises of 2 Modules of 5 Core Rotation blocks and 3 Selected Rotation blocks.
CORE ROTATION BLOCKS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
Companion Animal Surgery (including Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery, Small Animal Orthopaedics, Neutering and Emergency and Critical Care)
Companion Animal Medicine (including Oncology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine and Dermatology)
General Practice (including Inglis Veterinary Group, Small Animal Anaesthesia, Exotics, Rabbit Neutering, Ophthalmology, Dick Vet Small Animal Practice [DVSAP including introductory day to ophthalmology, dentisty and rabbit neutering practicals])
Farm/Veterinary Public Health/Pathology (including Farm Animal Hospital, Farm Animal Practice, Herd and Flock Health, Veterinary Public Health, Pathology, Microbiology, Epidemiology)
Equine and Large Animal Anaesthesia (including Equine Medicine, Equine Soft Tissue Surgery, Equine Orthopaedics, Equine Practice [DVEP], Cottage Duty and Large Animal Anaesthesia)

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The overall objectives of the final year rotations and externship are:
1. To build upon the previous years of didactic and clinical instruction by integrating the material into a clinical setting.
2. To further develop practical clinical
3. To develop skills in history taking, in clinical examination, and in formulating a list of problems and differential diagnoses.
4. To develop enhanced problem solving ability.
5. To develop a sense of responsibility to patients and to their owners.
6. To develop further skills in communication with instructors, with peers and with the animal owning public.
7. To develop professional attitudes in the widest sense, including personal tidiness and maintenance of a clean and safe clinical environment.
8. To develop further the spirit of intellectual curiosity and academic enquiry.
