| Course description | This course offers more advanced students the opportunity to consolidate their knowledge of the morphology and syntax of Classical Greek, to improve their skills in reading original Greek texts, and to develop their understanding of the interpretation of Greek authors to a higher level than in Greek 1C. |

Other requirements | Students must have SCE Higher or A-level or equivalent in Classical Greek.
Students are required to pass Greek 1C (GREE08005). A student who has been registered for Greek 1D but does not pass Greek 1C in the 1st Semester must contact the course organiser for his/her approval before continuing with Greek.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course students should be able to demonstrate in written examinations, in coursework, and in class discussion:-
- a good understanding of Greek grammar and syntax;
- solid skills in translating and understanding Greek literary texts;
- a more developed awareness of critical and interpretative issues raised by those texts. |
