Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes 
| To acquire a basic knowledge of the relevant phenomena appropriate to postgraduate study in English and Applied Linguistics: to develop an ability to discover general patterns in, and to formulate generalisations over sets of relevant data. |

Class Test (30% - taken during week 6) and one 2,500 word essay (70% submitted in December)
