Course description | Four weeks of instruction with full-time attachment to a geriatric unit. Electives for students wishing to pursue a deeper interest in care of the elderly can be provided. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
To familiarise students with the clinical management of the frailest and most disabled elderly patients, with complex and/or multiple disability. |
Assessment Information
Elements of assessment are: Portfolio case report, knowledge test and tutor PPD/skills assessment. Work on the clinical attachment will be subject to an evaluation, including a component based on the SCEE methodology, which will be carried out by a senior clinical. Material relevant to care of elderly patients will also be examined in the end-of-year żAssessment for Practiceż examination. |
