Course descriptionThe course is aimed at offering a selection of cutting-edge topics in epistemology. Possible topics include: assertion, epistemic relativism, the epistemology of disagreement, epistemic expressivism, epistemological disjunctivism, and epistemic value. Students on this course would ordinarily be expected to have successfully completed the corresponding Epistemology course (PHIL11131).

Please note this course will begin in *January 2016* not 2015.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students will develop their knowledge of key issues in contemporary epistemology. They will also develop their skills in critical thinking and in the oral and written presentation of philosophical arguments.

Assessment Information
Students are assessed by a 2500 word essay at the end of the semester (85%) and successful participation in the on-line activities associated with the course (15%).
