Course description | This course provides an introduction to the physics of Bose-Einstein condensa- tion, introducing students to the phenomenology of superconductivity and superfluidity, and some of the theoretical tools for their description (although without heavy use of the formalism of second quantisation). The course will assume some prior knowledge of non- interacting electron, condensed matter physics, thermodynamics and electromagnetism. In the last part the course will consider examples taken from research studies. |
