Year 1, Academic year 2015/16, Starting month: January
Notes: **This route of study can be started either in January or in September of the academic year.**
Students on the 20-month route of the PG Certificate programme take one 20-credit module in each of their three semesters of study. In the first year of the Certificate programme (two semesters), you will take 40 credits, and in your second year (one semester), 20 credits.
To be awarded the Postgraduate Certificate, you must complete a total of 60 credits of study; either three 20-credit modules from the programme collection, or two 20-credit modules and the 20-credit synoptic paper. If students opt to take the synoptic paper, this is undertaken in the last semester of taught study. Students must have completed all taught modules before embarking on the synoptic paper.
**Please note that it is not possible to take the synoptic paper if you commence your studies in September.**

On successful completion of the programme, you have the option of either graduating with the PG Certificate or, subject to obtaining an average of at least 50% across your modules (i.e. having demonstrated a Masters-level performance), you may request a transfer onto one of the eLLM programmes.
