A 20 credit unit towards the dissertation will be taken in third year, and a 20 credit completion unit in fourth year.     Notes:If the dissertation is taken in Celtic, a 20-credit unit towards the dissertation will be taken in third year, and a 20-credit completion unit in fourth year. Students opting for a Celtic dissertation will therefore be required to take a 20-credit unit towards their dissertation in third year together with option courses in Celtic totalling 40 credits, followed by a 20-credit completion unit in fourth year together with honours options in Celtic totalling 60 credits.

  • Notes: Final Assessment Weighting: One unit of assessment is allocated to every 20 credits and constitutes one 20-credit paper. The following are the twelve 20-credit papers on which the classification of the degree is based. (Papers that for the purpose of degree classification acquire weighting of 40 credits are, therefore, listed twice).
    1-4 Celtic Option Courses
    5-8 Scottish Literature Option Courses
    9-10 Celtic or Scottish Literature Option Course
    11-12 Dissertation
