Summary | The Honours Dissertation takes the form of an extended piece of work which can either be a research proposal or a critical assessment of an area of nursing practice. Consistent with the aims of a research led degree, the honours dissertation seeks to demonstrate the ability of the students to independently present a research proposal or a critical assessment of an area of nursing practice with the appropriate level of critical appraisal and knowledge of research and enquiry in the discipline of nursing. |

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate the ability to produce a clearly structured research proposal.
- Demonstrate the ability to review and produce a critical analysis of the relevant literature and research in the area of your chosen topic.
- Demonstrate an awareness of the ethical issues which may arise in the course undertaking research.
- Discuss analytically the potential implications of your proposed research for nursing practice.
- Gain experience in producing a sustained argument and writing a substantial piece of work.
