| Summary | This course is a survey of 20th century metaethics. We will discuss moral ontology, epistemology, and semantics.
Shared with UG Course Meta-Ethics PHIL10019.
For courses co-taught with undergraduate students and with no remaining undergraduate spaces left, a maximum of 8 MSc students can join the course. Priority will be given to MSc students who wish to take the course for credit on a first come first served basis after matriculation. |

Topics include: non-naturalism, naturalism, error-theory, expressivism, and response-dependence analyses. Students should gain a general overview of the subject as well as some exposure to some of the most recent developments.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- understand the most important positions in contemporary meta-ethics, some of which students will have encountered in less depth in previous courses, others of which will be new to students
- enhance their philosophical skills, through pursuing contemporary questions at an advanced level
- further their communications skills, through presentations and constructive argument in a seminar setting
