SummaryScience Communication and Public Engagement practical project (developing, delivering, evaluating and reflecting on a Science Communication and Public Engagement activity). The projects will draw on the aggregated learning outcomes of the course modules to enable to students to develop, with supervision, a science communication activity which they will deliver and evaluate. Students will receive support to negotiate a suitable project partner in their local area and will work with the project partner to deliver and evaluate the activity. The dissertation will be a reflective analysis of the process of developing delivering and evaluating the activity, drawing on relevant literature.

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Ability in the design and delivery of a science communication/public engagement activity.
  2. Ability to design an effective evaluation strategy.
  3. Evidence of reflexive and reflective practice.
  4. An informed reflection (supported by the literature) on the process of design delivery and evaluation of the public engagement activity.
