|Summary||IIntegrated Resource Management is about co-ordinating planning & decision making processes in natural resource use so that:
- user conflicts are reduced
- long term sustainable benefits are optimized
- economic, environmental, & social needs of society are balanced
This course introduces participants to a range of decision support tools and focuses on their application in practice. The sessions will be primarily participative and include exposure to some computer based practical examples.
Following an introductory session, the course comprises of 3 broad sections including a case visit to Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park:

||Coursework assessment 50%
||Students will receive formative feedback following submission of their proposal document for the Resource Management Report. Formative feedback is also available interactively within the self- learning packages associated with the course. Feedback will be given on the intermittent assessment submitted via Learn through the "Turnitin" grademarker which will be used to attach comments throughout submitted documents.

|Graduate Attributes and Skills
||Students will gain experience in developing and communicating short, focused management reports. Their analytical and interpretative skills will be enhanced, as will their ability to research and present relevant resource related literature.
Problem solving and group work is a key component of the student experience, and in parallel to the experience gained in decision support methods, students will become more proficient in spreadsheet use.
