Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Apply the principles underpinning material and restoration selection and tooth preparation and demonstrate appropriate clinical skills to support the delivery of indirect restorations.
- Demonstrate competence in carrying out a full assessment of a clinical case where aesthetics are of particular importance and apply this in a clinical scenario.
- Critically evaluate the use of provisional/ temporary indirect restorations paying particular attention to form and function and demonstrate the clinical application of this technique.
- Explore and apply the principles and methods for colour matching of teeth to assist with the design of indirect restorations and evaluate methods for communicating this information to a peer group or dental team member.
- Evaluate the longevity of various types of indirect restorations with reference to the supporting scientific literature and apply this knowledge when discussing treatment options with patients.
