SummaryThis will cover abnormal growth of the teeth, jaws and skull, relevant embryology, the commonest syndromes of dentofacial development and the clinical relevance will be emphasised
Course description This module will cover abnormalities of facial and dental growth. The relevant somatic and psychological issues will be covered

  1. Identify abnormalities of dentofacial growth
  2. Will understand what influences this
  3. Will have knowledge of the various conditions and syndromes causing these
  4. Will appreciate the clinical implications of these abnormalities

Reading list will be provided prior to the start of teaching.

Graduate Attributes and Skills The graduate will have understanding of the common abnormalities of dentofacial growth and how these are caused. They will also know which colleagues in other specialities of dentistry will need to be involved in treating such patients.
