Summary | This half-course studies the problems of and prospects for economic development in less developed countries. Topics covered include: the meaning of development; theories of development and structural change; institutions and economic development; urbanisation and rural-urban migration; strategies of rural development; famine, hunger and poverty; trade and development; capital flows and foreign aid; the environment and development. |
