Summary | Spanish Language 2 will refine the language skills acquired in Spanish 1A and 1B, and further develop written, oral, reading, and aural skills. We will practise using complex grammatical structures and extended vocabularies.
|
Course description |
Taught in the target language, Spanish Language 2 will hone skills gained in Spanish 1A and 1B in structuring and communicating ideas both orally and in writing.
Weekly spoken language classes will combine listening comprehension work with oral expression. Materials are provided in the textbook and on Learn. During the other weekly class hour students will learn new grammatical structures and concepts in order to produce clear, detailed written texts on a wide range of subjects and to explain their point of view on topical issues. The written class will use the text book and exercise book. In advance of both classes students will prepare complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics from different Spanish-speaking countries.
Students are expected to undertake a very substantial amount of study outside class on a regular basis.
