|Summary||A compulsory course for MEL Single Honours in Italian and MEL+OSNAL (Other Subject Not A Language) students, which carries 10 credits and aims at improving students' grasp of a variety of Italian idioms, registers and styles, as well as enhancing the ability to convey them appropriately into English.
Class activities will include summary translation, polished translation, and comparative analysis of published translations. Selected Italian texts will be analysed and discussed in groups and collectively during the class hour.

||One final degree examination, worth 80% of overall mark.
4 pieces of continuous assessment (see Course Handbook for details and deadlines), counting for 20% of overall mark.
||Students will regularly receive oral feedback on their written work in class. This will be provided collectively through analyses of common practices and mistakes. Individual written feedback will also be provided in detail on their coursework assignments. Tutors will be happy to discuss results and feedback during office hours or on students┐ request, by appointment.
