| Summary | In a series of lectures, student presentations and group work the students will study poetry, drama and epic literature written in Nynorsk over the last 150 years, the main features of the grammar and vocabulary of Nynorsk, and the historic background to and the inner development of Nynorsk - one of the two official written standards of Norwegian. |

| Additional Information (Assessment) | Students are expected to write an essay (in English) of 2,000 words on a topic related to what has been covered in the course, including a 300-word abstract (written in Nynorsk) summarising the essay. The abstract will count for 10% of the overall essay mark. The overall essay mark will count for 30% of the final mark. A written exam will count for 70% of the final mark. |
