Online assessment will incorporate a variety of activities will constitute 40% of their overall course grade and is taken to represent a formative assessment of learning throughout the programme.

Learning Outcomes
At the completion of this course the candidate should be familiar with the concept of neglected diseases and their impact on the population and have a sound understanding of the following:
* the 13 diseases officially classed as neglected and further examples of neglected diseases
* the underlying causes for the neglect of certain diseases
* funding and health system inequalities with regards to different diseases
* the overlap (high risk population groups and spatial clustering) of neglected diseases with each other and with the Big 3 (HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria)
* effects of co-infection on disease burden
* the potential to coordinate disease control programmes to increase efficiency through collaboration
