Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- demonstrate, by way of coursework and examination as required, that they can recognise and translate the basic morphology of Classical Greek;
- demonstrate, by way of coursework and examination as required, that they can recognise and translate the basic syntactical constructions of Classical Greek;
- demonstrate, by way of coursework and examination as required, that they can translate short extracts from Greek into English;
- demonstrate, by way of coursework and examination as required, that they can translate basic sentences from English into Greek;
- demonstrate in class discussion an ability to analyse and reflect critically upon the Greek language and upon scholarly and conceptual discussions about approaches to the language.
