Learning Outcomes
! Analyse the structures of Scottish policy-making in the context of the writing on the history, politics and sociology of the Scottish nation
! Understand the impact of devolution, the role of the Scottish Parliament and Scottish Government, the responsibilities of local government and other public agencies, and the financial arrangements affecting them
! Assess the importance of cross-cutting themes and policies in addition to service-based issues
! Explore the ways in which policies different from those of the United Kingdom government have been taken forward since 1999
! Build a knowledge of the relevant literature and of the publications and reports of the Parliament and Government, especially on their websites
