Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. develop their familiarity with Sanskrit language and literature and build upon their previous knowledge of the culture of ancient India.
  2. translate and analyse a range of advanced Sanskrit texts from a variety of periods composed in several genres.
  3. develop skills in acquiring knowledge of a linguistic and literary culture which they will be able to transfer to study of other languages and literatures.
  4. communicate their understanding of the linguistic and textual culture of ancient India.
  5. develop skills based on their independent work and interact with class colleagues in communal study of the Sanskrit language and its literature.
