SummaryThe areas of study in this course will include Evidence based dentistry, research methods, health informatics, statistics, reflective portfolios, case based learning and journal clubs.

Course description This second year course will encourage and enable you to examine, critically analyse and evaluate scientific literature in preparation for an essay on the topic of your choice in third year. In conjunction with research methods you will cover the fundamental aspects of statistics used within medical/dental literature/studies. Case based learning and reflective portfolio sessions will allow interactive work and discussions between you and your peers and allow you the opportunity to consider your time and practice as a student and clinician on the OHS programme.
This course is comprised of classroom based lectures and tutorials.
