SummaryThis programme aims to ensure that practitioners have a sound anatomical and physiological basis for treatment of acute illness and injury in children, with particular focus on the recognition, assessment and management of pain. At completion of this course the candidate should understand the anatomy, physiology, pathological and pharmcalogical processes that are important for the acutely ill or injured child in pain. The student should have an understanding of the principles of child protection, and the legal aspects of caring for the sick or injured child.
