| Summary | The course is split into two sections.
Clinical Neuropsychology A introduces a range of clinical assessment and rehabilitation methods.
Clinical Neuropsychology B you will also receive some lectures from invited Clinical Neuropsychologists working in Scotland. |
| Course description |
The aim of this course is to provide an introduction to clinical neuropsychology. The student will be introduced to methods of clinical neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation. A range of neuropsychological test procedures will be introduced. The student will also be introduced to the neuropsychological profile of a range of neurological disorders including the dementias, epilepsy, head injury and the assessment and rehabilitation of neuropsychological disorders including both memory and executive dysfunction.

Other requirements | Students should have a background in neuropsychology / cognitive psychology. This course is only open to students on the MSc programme in Human Cognitive Neuropsychology, although other students may be permitted to take the course at the discretion of the course organiser. |

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- complete a neuropsychological assessment within a clinical setting
- complete a neuropsychological presentation of a range of clinical neurological disorders
- learn neuropsychological rehabilitation methods used with a range of neurological disorders
- complete an assessment and rehabilitation of neuropsychological disorders of memory and executive dysfunction
- experience of neuropsychological tests used within a clinical setting
