SummaryThe student will gain an understanding of how livestock behaviours influence disease risk and transmission, and how disease status can in turn affect livestock behaviours. The course will explore how a knowledge and understanding of such patterns can help develop effective disease control strategies.
Course description Introduction to the concepts of:
1. Infectious livestock diseases
2. How livestock behaviour affects disease risk and transmission
3. Influence of disease status on livestock behaviour
4. Principles of modelling livestock behaviours and disease transmission
5. Livestock x pathogen interactions in grazing environments
