SummaryBoth in clinical and research practice, we are undertaking more complex and costly procedures. This course will include aspects of ethics in anaesthesia, for example in research, in husbandry (e.g. castration or docking in farm animals) and then lead on to the ultimate analgesic- euthanasia.
Course description - To be able to discuss welfare issues associated with anaesthesia and analgesia
- To identify suitable methods of euthanasia for different species and situations
- To demonstrate an awareness of the legal framework around anaesthesia, euthanasia and analgesia
- To be able to present an argument in a welfare related situation with appropriate justifications
