Year 1 Academic year: 2018/19, Starting in: September

Notes:
A total of 180 credits (the compulsory course worth 20 credits, the Dissertation worth 60 credits, plus 100 credits from the Course Options) must be successfully taken to achieve the MSc.

By the end of year 5 at the latest and prior to progression to the dissertation element of the programme, students must complete the taught element of the programme:
- compulsory course worth 20 credits (Practical Introduction to Data Science, PGPH11092). This course may be taken in either year 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 of the programme.
- 100 credits of optional courses (from either the Data Science and/or Health Care and Medical Informatics courses).

These courses are limited to students registered on the programme.
We recommend that students take no more than 60 credits in any one year.

With Programme Director approval, students may take up to 20 online learning credits offered within the University of Edinburgh from a related subject area over the course of the programme.
