MA Accounting and Finance Year 1

Notes:
ECNM08013 Economics1 (40 credits) may be chosen instead of ECNM08004 Economic Principles (20 credits) and ECNM08003 Economic Applications (20 credits).

Year 2 Academic year: 2018/19, Starting in: August

Notes:
Entry into third year honours normally requires (i) passes in all courses (240 credits) in the first two years, and (ii) a mark of 50% or above at the first attempt in Introduction to Corporate Finance AND (Business Analytics and Information Systems OR Applications of Finance) in second year, (iii) a pass in Business Research Methods I: Introduction to Data Analysis, and (iv) a pass in each of Accountancy 2A and Accountancy 2B and an average of 50% in both at the first attempt.

LAWS08058 Business Law (20 credits) is required for accreditation purposes.

Year 3 Academic year: 2018/19, Starting in: August

Notes:
Entry into third year honours normally requires (i) passes in all courses (240 credits) in the first two years, and (ii) a mark of 50% or above at the first attempt in Introduction to Corporate Finance AND (Business Analytics and Information Systems OR Applications of Finance) in second year, (iii) a pass in Business Research Methods I: Introduction to Data Analysis, and (iv) a pass in each of Accountancy 2A and Accountancy 2B and an average of 50% in both at the first attempt.

Students in Year 3 must take a minimum of TWO taught courses (40 credits) per semester.

The Dissertation proposal must be on a research topic in the field of Accounting or Finance.

Students who spend their third year abroad at a partner university must complete and pass a full year's diet of examinable subjects (equivalent to 120 credits) as well as equivalent courses to the year 3 compulsory courses in Accounting and Finance.

The Management Honours Dissertation must be on a research topic in the field of Accounting or Finance.
