On this route of study, students take 80 credits (4 courses) in Year 1 and 40 credits (2 courses) in Year 2. Students studying part-time must take at least one course per semester. 120 taught credits must be completed before embarking on the dissertation stage.
The dissertation is compulsory and must be taken in the student's final year on completion of the taught element of the programme (ie 120 credits/six courses).

Please note that a minimum of 100 (five courses) and a maximum of 120 credits (six courses) must be selected from the course groups A, B, C and D for this programme.
A maximum of 40 credits (two courses) may be selected from any one of groups A, B, C and D.
Group A includes medical law subject area courses.
Group B includes intellectual property law subject area courses.
Group C includes IT law subject area courses.
Group D includes international commercial law subject area courses.
A maximum of 20 credits (one course) can be taken from the group E courses in this programme.
Group E includes courses across all four subject areas. **Please note that a course from this collection can only be taken with the approval of your Programme Director.**
Please note also that if a student has already taken two courses from a single subject area, ie two courses from one of groups A-D, they can only take a course from group E that belongs to a different subject area.
