SummarySynopsis:
Design principles; visual impact; legal and ethical constraints; design processes.

Aims:
1. To investigate and assess the impact of new design within historic environment.
2. To consider how existing buildings may be sensitively transformed.

On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Knowledge of the skills and processes involved in architectural design.
  2. Understanding of the architect¿s approach to existing buildings, and of the impact of new work on existing built fabric.
  3. Display organisational, verbal and presentational skills appropriate to Design.
