Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Discuss the main trends in Chinese literature from the early 20th century to the present
- Employ various literary theories and approaches in analysing Chinese literature
- Translate a variety of Chinese literary texts into natural English
- Deal with both full-form and simplified Chinese characters
- Formulate and produce an essay on a chosen aspect of Chinese literature
