Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  1. This course will build on the foundation laid in the ordinary part of the LLB curriculum and in particular on the work done in property law (ordinary), a pass in which is a prerequisite for this course. Students' skills in the following areas will be developed:
  2. - using legal materials; practical reasoning;
  3. - appreciation of the law in its social, economic and historical contexts; evaluation and criticism of the law;
  4. - research, gaining knowledge and understanding which may be applied and adapted in future;
  5. - transferable skills such as: (a) communication skills, oral and in writing; (b) intellectual skills, of collecting, organising, evaluating, synthesising and presenting material and arguments, and including the ability to question assumptions, to frame and test hypotheses, to detect fallacies and to think autonomously; (c) general skills, in managing time, working independently, and taking responsibility for own work
