Summary | The course will give you powerful frameworks to understand and human behaviour: We cover the major domains: What functions does personality serve?; Facets: What is buried inside the 5 domains?; Values as the immediate causes of behaviour; Well-being: How does being happy differ from living a good life?; How can individual differences help us understanding the world: education, relationships, work, abnormal psychology. |
Course description |
Individual differences are now understood as major predictors of life outcomes, social relations, well-being, work. and health. The methods for investigating how personality affects behaviour have also advanced. This course will explore what personality is, what its major dimensions are, and how it impacts on personal and national outcomes.

Pre-requisites | Degree major in Psychology and passes in Psychology courses at least to the equivalent of Junior Honours level in Edinburgh. Prior agreement with the 4th Year Honours Course Organiser |
