| Course description |
This course introduces students to a range of specialist techniques used in psychological research, particularly Cognitive Neuroscience, through a parallel series of technique-focused lectures, and practical workshops.
This course will cover the basic principles of these techniques, and their advantages and disadvantages, considering the sorts of research questions to which each might be applied.
Students are required to attend all lectures, and to attend one mandatory workshop.
Students taking the course for credit can additionally choose one optional workshop, subject to availability.

Assessment on this course is by a series of short answer questions organised in sections. Students will choose ONE section. Each section will relate to more than one of the techniques covered. The word limit will be 1500 words. |

- familiarise themselves with the scenarios in which the range of design types discussed are applicable
