Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- 1. To be able to discuss the anatomical and physiological differences between birds, reptiles and mammals and their relevance for anaesthesia
- 2. To be able to suggest appropriate anaesthetic and analgesic management for reptiles and birds in commonly encountered situations
- To be able to discuss the problems wth a chemical restraint and anaesthesia with wild animals
- To be able to describe commonly used techniques for capture, restraint and anaesthesia of wild animals and comapre them
- To demonstrate a suitable awareness of safety considerations
