Notes:
Students wishing to pursue qualification towards legal practice in Scotland should note the courses required as indicated in the Degree Programme Table for LLB Honours and the Notes on Qualification for Progress towards Legal Practice. It cannot be guaranteed that a curriculum enabling progress towards professional qualification on this programme will be possible.

Please note, students who may be retaking a compulsory course, or has chosen to do so for professionally qualifying reasons, it is possible that there may be timetable clashes.

Students can gain a number of exemptions from the professional Accounting bodies (ICAS, ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA, AIA) but these exemptions differ according to each Accounting body. Further details are available from the Business School.

Courses accredited by the Accounting bodies in Year 1: ACCN08007 Accountancy 1A; ACCN08008 Accountancy 1B; BUST08014 Computing for Business.

Notes:
Students wishing to progress towards legal practice should note that passes in the following courses are required to qualify as a solicitor in Scotland: 'Public Law and Individual Rights LAWS08132', 'Evidence (Ordinary) LAWS08141', 'Criminal Law (Ordinary) LAWS08142'; 'Property Law (Ordinary) LAWS08133', and 'Succession and Trust Law LAWS08130'.

Year 3 Academic year: 2019/20, Starting in: August

Notes:
Entry into third year honours normally requires a mark of 50% in either Accountancy 2A OR Accountancy 2B.

Courses accredited by the Accounting bodies in Year 3: 'ACCN10008 Advanced Financial Accounting'; 'ACCN10009 Auditing'; 'ACCN10010 Management Accounting Applications'.

Students who opt to spend their third year abroad will be expected to do the equivalent of 120 credits. All students who spend their third year abroad must also take the compulsory course 'Advanced Legal Writing (Online) LAWS10214'.

Students who opt to spend their third year abroad will be expected to do the equivalent of 120 credits in year 3. In addition, they will be expected to take the 'Dissertation in Law LAWS10097' and 80 Accountancy credits in year 4.
